TYPE 2 DIABETES
Have you been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last 4 years?
This clinical research study is looking at the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication option for volunteers with early type 2 diabetes.
Would you like to take part in type 2 diabetes research?
As a volunteer in a research study, you’ll receive study-related medical care
regular follow-up of your diabetes. Study volunteers are an important part of moving medical care forward.
You may qualify to participate in this study if you:

Are 18 years of age or older
-
Have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes within the last 4 years
-
Have been taking metformin (also known as Glumetza, Fortamet, Glucophage, or Riomet) every day
You may not qualify to participate in this study if you:

Have Type 1 Diabetes mellitus

Have a history of chronic or acute pancreatitis any time prior to study entry
-
Have a history of any of these heart conditions prior to study entry:

heart attack
-
heart surgery
-
nontraumatic amputation
-
cerebrovascular accident, or congestive heart failure

There are other eligibility requirements that the study team will review. Only the study staff can confirm whether you are eligible to participate in the study or not.
